The IWATSU CS-5300 is part of the CS-5000 Series of semiconductor curve tracers developed for detailed current-voltage characteristic analysis of power semiconductor devices. The instrument combines high-voltage characterization and pulsed high-current measurement capabilities within one test platform.
In HV mode, the CS-5300 supports multiple operating modes including Rectified SINE ±, DC ±, LEAKAGE ± and AC, with a maximum peak output of 5 kV at 25 mA. Additional HV ranges include 300 V at 750 mA and 30 V at 7.5 A, with higher peak pulse currents available on the lower-voltage ranges.
For high-current testing, the HC mode provides pulse operation with positive and negative polarity, reaching a maximum of 1,000 A / 10 kW at 40 V. The pulse width can be adjusted from 50 μs to 400 μs in 10 μs increments, while the measurement point can also be specified with 10 μs resolution.
The system supports waveform-based observation of applied voltage and current, allowing engineers to evaluate device behaviour and select appropriate pulse width and measurement timing. It also provides configurable sweep functions and supports automated semiconductor parameter measurements when used with compatible optional software and accessories.
